Singapore and Hong Kong, 6 June 2024 - China Everbright Water Limited (“Everbright Water” or the “Company”; stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK) is pleased to announce today that a consortium led by Everbright Water (the “Consortium”) has signed a concession agreement and secured Anyang Municipal Waste Water Treatment Centre Phase I Project (“Anyang Project” or the “Project”) in Henan Province, which commands an investment of approximately RMB663 million.
With a concession period of 30 years (inclusive of a construction period and an operation period), Anyang Project will be financed, invested in, constructed, operated and maintained based on the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model by a project company to be incorporated by the Consortium, in which Everbright Water holds a 99% equity interest. The Project is mainly responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of a waste water treatment plant, which has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 100,000 m3 and a waste water pipeline network of 10.3 km in length. The discharged water indicators of the Project will comply with the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838-2002) for Category Quasi-IV. The sludge generated from the Project will be dewatered to ensure a water content of no higher than 80% before being transported to external parties for further disposal.
Upon the completion of construction and commencement of operation, Anyang Project will better meet the growing demand for waste water treatment volume within its service areas, further enhancing the local waste water treatment quality and efficiency. Securing the Project also marks Everbright Water’s significant business breakthrough in Henan’s water market, following the Company’s securing of Sanmenxia Waste Water Treatment Project. This will further solidify the Company’s foundation to cultivate the local water environment management sector, better safeguarding the environmental quality of the Haihe River-Basin and more actively facilitating the local urban environmental improvement and socio-economic development process.
