Everbright Water Garners Two Awards in Singapore’s Capital Markets

Singapore and Hong Kong, 10 November 2025 – China Everbright Water Limited (“Everbright Water” or the “Company”; stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, has recently received two prestigious accolades in Singapore’s capital markets. The Company was honoured with two awards - the “Highest Weighted Return on Equity Over Three Years” and the “Overall Sector Winner” in the Utilities Sector under the Centurion Club, part of the Billion Dollar Club (“BDC”) annual awards organised by leading financial publication The Edge Singapore. Additionally, Everbright Water rose to 49th place in the 2025 Singapore Governance and Transparency Index (SGTI). Together, these recognitions underscore the Company’s strong reputation in Singapore for its governance excellence, robust business development, and competitive positioning.

Established by The Edge Singapore in 2017, the BDC annual awards recognise excellence among top-performing companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX), offering valuable insights for investors. As part of the BDC annual awards, eligible companies are evaluated based on key financial metrics such as annualised shareholder returns, weighted return on equity, and growth in profit after tax over the past three years. The awards are presented across 13 sectors, including financial services, energy, real estate investment trusts (“REITs”), technology, utilities, real estate and healthcare. Everbright Water was first recognised in 2019 with the Best Company Award in the Services Sector under the Centurion Club. This year, the Company has once again been honoured — receiving two awards that highlight its strong capital returns, operational efficiency, and competitive positioning within the industry.

Jointly launched by Singapore Institute of Directors, Centre for Governance and Sustainability at the National University of Singapore Business School and CPA Australia, the 2025 SGTI evaluated 467 listed companies and 42 REITs and business trusts in Singapore, providing a comprehensive assessment of their corporate governance practices and transparency in public disclosures. Companies were assessed based on five criteria: board responsibilities; rights of shareholders; environmental, social and governance and stakeholders; accountability and audit; as well as disclosure and transparency. Everbright Water demonstrated significant improvement, rising from 237th place in 2021 to 49th in 2025.

Mr. Xiong Jianping, Executive Director and CEO of Everbright Water, said: “We are honoured to receive these recognitions from Singapore’s capital markets for both our governance and overall performance. This acknowledgement highlights Everbright Water’s ability to maintain strategic focus and enhance capital and operational efficiency in a complex environment, while affirming our enduring commitment to high standards of governance and transparent disclosure.
